Masi SERVICESThe South Bay Children's Health Center provides essential Dental, Vision, Hearing, Child Guidance and Special Education Services to youth, kindergarten through high school age, who come from low and moderate income families. Our objective is to provide these services at the lowest possible cost, without regard for a child's race, color, gender, religion, national origin, ancestry or ability to pay. DENTAL CLINICOur dental clinic provides complete diagnostic, corrective and reparative dental care. This includes filling cavities, performing root canals, cleanings, and restoring mouth and teeth to a healthy state. Clinic Staff: Gregg S. Kellogg, D.D.S.; Mary Lynn Lukasik, D.D.S.; Hilda Amaya, R.D.A. VISION CLINICOur five phase eye examinations include developing patient history, measuring visual acuity, retinoscopy, evaluating eye coordination, and eye health. Eyeglasses are provided if needed. Optometrist: Dr. Neil Natsumeda, O.D.; Dr. Paul C. Barr, 0.D. HEARING CLINICDiagnostic hearing tests of the ear. Audiologist: Irving Shapiro, Ph.D. CHILD AND FAMILY GUIDANCE CLINICOur goal is to improve the emotional health and functioning of troubled children, adolescents and their families. Our target population consists, of the most severely emotionally disturbed children and adolescents, and those at risk of out-of-home placement. A team consisting of psychiatrists, psychologists, clinical social workers, arid marriage, family and child counselors, provides a full range of diagnostic and treatment services. We work together with the clients and all relevant family members to complete a diagnostic assessment and a therapeutic treatment plan. Services are provided in individual, family and group modalities. In-home services and on-site services at selected public schools are also available. Clinical Director: Kerry A. Causey L.C.S.W. EDUCATIONAL DAY TREATMENT PROGRAMOur non-public special school is coupled with a full day rehabilitative day treatment program, to provide a comprehensive academic and therapeutic program for Severely Emotionally Disturbed (S.E.D.) youth, between 13 and 21 years of age. In addition to individualized educational plans, youth participate in a variety of therapeutic activities, including individual. group and family therapy. Medication is monitored by psychiatrists. FEESDENTAL CLINIC fees for all dental care received are a nominal fee per visit provided the client meets the income level guidelines. VISION AND HEARING CLINICS provide examinations and tests for $5.00 each visit. Fees for corrective eyeglasses are based on the cost of service. CHILD AND FAMILY GUIDANCE fees are on a sliding scale, based upon family size and household income. Health insurance and Medi-Cal are accepted. EDUCATIONAL DAY TREATMENT PROGRAM fees are contracted with a school district and the Los Angeles County Department of Mental Health.
